I explain where row-level security could or should be located in. All cases are investigated: application server, hand-made row-level security, Oracle VPD. I show how we implemented extremely complex row-level security with VPD for an application with 10000 users and how we defeated performance issues and technology limitations. One of the coolest features of the presentation that I'll show how we implemented the same in Postgress database so we will see how Postgress row level security distinguishes from Oracle VPD and which one is better.
